If we went for coffee today…
I would tell you about this moment I had at the end of the night. The meeting was over, the afterglow was finished, and I was helping Paul and Kenny put the rest of the equipment in the locker… and I had a moment.
Actually, I’ve been wanting to write this on my blog for a while…
The people that do setup, tear-down, sound, children’s ministry, hospitality, bulletins are my hero’s!
We’ve got some amazing, faithful people. Josh, Maria, Andrew, Deborah, Andrew, Andrea, Rachelle, Chelsea, Amber, Daniel, Jonathan, Marika, Sarah, Scott, Jesse, Eddie, Kathy, Paul, Josh, Amy, Randy, Carl, Kenny, Matthew, Glenn, Evgeni, Rachel, Tyler, Patrick, Amber, Megan, Joseph, Margie, Dan and I already know that I’ve missed a couple of people (and no, they aren’t in order of importance!).
We have just come to the end of a 4 month commitment of serving. May 1st starts a new term that will continue to September 1st.
We have never, ever been better setup for a new term in Children’s Ministry, Worship and Hospitality. Interesting, this is the first time we didn’t have some special activity or event to raise awareness, welcome new volunteers, cast vision… that kind of thing. Most of this setup has happened through personal relationships, sharing the need, the opportunity one on one, through the normal course of church life and discipleship. So, this is remarkable on two levels. One that we have that level of communication going on through the body. And, two, that we are actually setup before the term starts.
I’d still like to do something to say thank-you… we need a fresh idea, though.
any ideas? any volunteers?
